New Product Announcement - Yaz Birth Control

Sun Pharmacy is pleased to announce the addition of Yaz birth control to our formulary.

Yaz is the combination of drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, and is used as contraception to prevent pregnancy. It is also used to treat moderate acne in women who are at least 14 years old and have started having menstrual periods, and who wish to use birth control pills to prevent pregnancy.

Yaz is also used to treat the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), such as anxiety, depression, irritability, trouble concentrating, lack of energy, sleep or appetite changes, and feeling out of control. PMDD can also cause physical symptoms such as breast tenderness, joint or muscle pain, headache, and bloating or weight gain.

PMDD is not the same condition as premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Drosperinone and ethinyl estradiol should not be used to treat PMS. Furthermore, it should not be used to treat PMDD unless you have already chosen to use birth control pills as a means of contraception. Yaz may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

For more information on Yaz please visit Sun Pharmacy.

How to Order Medication Online

We recognize that over 47 million Americans have no health insurance and even more have no primary care provider. Unfortunately, the Internet community is overwhelmed with unethical online pharmacies willing to take advantage of the uninsured.

At Sun Pharmacy we pride ourselves on serving the community ethically and honestly, that's why we have put together the following warnings for consumers interested in buying their medications online:

1. Avoid online pharmacies that charge a non-refundable processing fee - these pharmacies often have no intention of filling your prescription request, they make their money solely on non-refundable processing and/or membership fees.

2. Avoid online pharmacies that sell controlled substances - controlled substances, such as Lunesta, Valium, Vicodin, etc., CAN NOT be ordered online. Although many online pharmacies offer controlled medications for sale, it is illegal. Rest assured, Sun Pharmacy does not sell controlled medications and adheres to all state and federal laws.

Non-controlled medications, such as Ultram and Fioricet CAN be ordered online legally without a prior prescription. However, you must fill out a medical questionnaire, which will be reviewed by a US licensed physician and a US licensed pharmacist.

3. Avoid online pharmacies that do not offer contact via a toll-free telephone number.

4. Avoid online pharmacies that solicit you via email - reputable online pharmacies contact you via email only AFTER you have made your purchase, and only for the purpose of refill notification.

5. Trust your instinct - if a website seems questionable, continue your search until you find an online pharmacy that you feel comfortable with. Remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
